As impressive and surprising as the trailer for Metroid: Other M, an action-packed collaboration between Nintendo and Team Ninja, was, I couldn't help but remark how much more violent Samus Aran seemed to have become. Since when does Samus shove her blast cannon down a creature's mouth? This is the team behind the hyperviolent Ninja Gaiden series, though. Would this transfer to Metroid, too?
During an interview at E3, Metroid: Other M designer Yusuke Hayashi from Team Ninja, sitting next to legendary Metroid co-creator Yoshio Sakamoto, argued that wasn't the case.
"First of all, it's not my intent to create a Ninja Gaiden version for Metroid with Other M," explained Hayashi. "Our goal is definitely to use our know-how to our advantage in developing something that is still distinctly Metroid, but has all those qualities that would make it even better than what people would expect."
He did see my point, though.
"A trailer being a trailer," he continued, "it's going to have the sequences in it that are more action-packed, maybe a little more violent, but it's not going to be all of this game. I'm going to have a version that you guys can actually get your hands on fairly soon."
I wonder what soon means. Nintendo doesn't tend to attend the Tokyo Game Show, so maybe the company will be holding a hands-on media event over the summer. Or, better yet, given how far along the game looks -- release a demo for all Wii owners!

Who the hell cares about the level of violence? As long as the game is fun, I (and I am sure others) will buy it.

MP series is a FPS and now they turn it into NG wannabe. I rather play NG series instead of this.

Nofanboy, I actually asked them about Metroid Prime, as well. Look for that soon.

@Nofanboy
This is a different series I've been told by some people. Like how Halo and Halo Wars are the same franchise, but different types of games. This isn't 'Prime' series, it maybe a whole new one, or just a one shot.
Also, I'd like to clap for G4 here. I leave tips on that 'Tip The Feed' box saying "There are three Metal Gear games coming out my source at Konami says.", and nothing. So here we go, I'll say this in public. Expect a gameplay trailer of Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 (360, PS3) in August at the earliest, Most likely very early October.

"PRIME" is a First person Series, this is Something Far in the Future, after the Events of Super metroid and Before Fusion.
@Patrick Klepek
so they gave you their thoughts about the Prime Series? interesting.

Metroid Prime was already such games. Since Team Ninja will be behind this game, I can't wait to taste the new flavor of Metroid.
